275/70R17 is our go-to recommendation for customers looking for a straightforward tire upgrade with the TORQ 2" level.
Want the fuller look of a 33"? 285/70R17 is a very popular Gen 5 setup, but wheel offset, alignment, tire dimensions and individual vehicle clearances become more important. Minor clearance modifications may be required.

THE EASY ANSWER
For a Gen 6 4Runner, 285/70R17 is a great 33" setup for customers looking for an easy step up in tire size.
Want more? The TORQ 2" level also works well with select 34" tire setups, including 285/75R17, when paired with the right wheel specifications and appropriate clearance modifications.
WHEEL OFFSET MATTERS
Tire size is only part of the equation. Wheel width and offset determine where the tire sits in relation to the suspension, body and fender liner.
GEN 5: Factory or moderate-offset wheels generally make larger tire fitment easier. Moving the wheel farther outward can increase rubbing at the fender liner and body mount.
GEN 6: For aftermarket 17" and 18" wheels with 34" tire setups, approximately +20mm to +30mm offset is a strong target.
GEN 6 — RUNNING 34s?
For many 34" Gen 6 setups, we recommend removing the factory crash plates behind the front wheels for additional clearance. Mud-flap removal and minor fender-liner adjustment may also be required depending on the exact wheel-and-tire combination.
FITMENT NOTE: Tire dimensions vary by manufacturer. Actual clearance depends on tire size, wheel width and offset, alignment, trim level and individual vehicle configuration. More aggressive combinations may require trimming or other clearance modifications.

Installation requires removal and disassembly of the factory front strut assembly. Because the coil spring must be compressed during installation, a spring compressor is required.
If you're not experienced or comfortable working with compressed coil springs, we recommend having the kit installed by a qualified professional.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does this change ride quality?
Because the TORQ 2" Leveling Kit retains your factory shocks and springs, it also retains the basic spring and damping characteristics of the factory suspension. You get the improved stance and added front height without replacing the suspension components that determine much of your 4Runner's factory ride quality.
Will I need an alignment after installation?
Yes. We recommend a professional alignment after installing the TORQ 2" Front Leveling Kit. Any time front ride height is changed, alignment should be checked and corrected to help maintain proper handling and tire wear.
Will this fit my TRD Pro?
Yes. The TORQ 2" Front Leveling Kit is compatible with 4Runner TRD Pro models. Simply select the correct kit for your 4Runner generation when ordering.

Yes. Installation requires removal and disassembly of the factory front strut assembly, so a spring compressor is required.
