Protect the Factory Mount Before There's a Problem

The 4th-Gen Tacoma's factory upper shock mount has experienced documented failures around the shock-stem bushing area during demanding use.

The TORQ Front Shock Mount Reinforcement Kit adds support across the factory upper mount while providing additional containment around this critical center section—all without replacing the complete factory top-hat assembly.

Keep the factory mount. Reinforce the area that matters.

The Problem

Your Tacoma's upper shock mount has an important job. Suspension forces are transferred through the shock assembly and into the upper mounting structure.

Real-world 4th-Gen Tacoma failures have been documented around the center shock-stem and bushing area. When this portion of the factory mount fractures, the shock-stem/bushing assembly can move through the damaged mount.

We've Seen the Failure Firsthand.

Actual 4th-Gen Tacoma Upper Shock Mount Failure

The factory component shown above has fractured around the shock-stem bushing area.

This is the area the TORQ reinforcement is designed to support.

Not every Tacoma will experience this failure. But documented failures show that the failure mode is real, making preventative reinforcement worth considering for trucks that regularly encounter rough roads, washboard, potholes or off-road terrain.

The TORQ Solution

Instead of replacing the complete factory top-hat assembly, TORQ takes a simpler approach.

The reinforcement plate installs over the existing factory upper shock mount, adding support across the mounting area and additional containment around the center shock-stem bushing.

Factory Mount

Keep it.

TORQ Reinforcement

Strengthen it.

Added Protection

Without replacing the entire assembly.

No unnecessary complexity. No complete replacement top hat. Just a purpose-built reinforcement designed around the factory mount.

Support Where It Matters Most

The documented failure occurs around the center portion of the factory mount surrounding the shock-stem bushing.

TORQ's reinforcement spans the upper mounting area while providing additional support around that critical center location.

Reinforcement Exactly Where It's Needed.

Why TORQ?

Reinforces the Factory Mount

Adds support across the factory upper shock-mount structure rather than requiring replacement of the entire assembly.

Supports the Center Area

Designed around the shock-stem/bushing area where documented factory failures have occurred.

Simple Bolt-On Design

Adds reinforcement at the factory upper mounting location without replacing the complete top-hat assembly.

Vehicle-Specific Fit

Designed specifically around the 4th-Gen Tacoma factory upper shock-mount configuration.

Inexpensive Protection. Expensive Problem.

Think of it as a little inexpensive insurance for your Tacoma's factory upper shock mounts.

Not because every Tacoma will experience a failure—but because adding another layer of support before there's a problem is a lot easier than dealing with a damaged upper mount afterward.

A relatively small investment adds preventative protection around a documented factory failure area while allowing you to retain the compatible factory suspension.

Protect it now. Hopefully you'll never need to find out if you needed it.

Why Replace Everything If You Don't Have To?

Complete replacement upper-mount assemblies are available for Tacoma owners who want to replace the entire factory component—but premium billet replacement solutions can cost hundreds of dollars per pair.

TORQ takes a different approach.

Keep the Factory Top Hat.

Reinforce the Area of Concern.

Spend the Difference Somewhere More Fun.

For compatible factory-suspension Tacomas, TORQ provides a straightforward and substantially less expensive way to add protection without replacing the complete upper-mount assembly.

The TORQ product is a reinforcement system, not a complete replacement top hat. The two approaches are different solutions.

Built for Tacomas That Get Used

Your Tacoma doesn't need to be a dedicated rock crawler to encounter substantial suspension impacts.

Forest Roads • Washboard • Potholes • Desert Trails • Camping • Hunting • Overlanding • Weekend Exploring

If your Tacoma spends its entire life on smooth pavement, you may never need additional reinforcement.

But if you bought your Tacoma to actually use it, adding another layer of support to the factory upper shock mount makes sense.

It's easier to reinforce a good mount than deal with a broken one.

Fitment & Compatibility

2024+ Toyota Tacoma

Designed for compatible 4th-Gen Tacoma applications retaining the factory-style front shock and upper-mount configuration.

IMPORTANT — TORQ Lift Kit Compatibility

This reinforcement kit is NOT compatible with TORQ's current top-load front lift/leveling spacers.

Both products occupy the same upper shock-mount area and should not be stacked together.

If your Tacoma currently uses a TORQ top-load front spacer, this reinforcement kit is not intended for your configuration.

Aftermarket Suspension

Compatibility should not be assumed with aftermarket coilovers, aftermarket top hats, top-load lift spacers, TRD Pro or Trailhunter suspension.

Please confirm compatibility before ordering if your factory front suspension has been modified.

Simple Installation

The TORQ reinforcement installs at the factory upper shock mounting location while retaining the compatible factory top-hat assembly.

Because you're reinforcing the existing assembly rather than replacing it, installation is straightforward and requires no complete top-hat replacement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Every 4th-Gen Tacoma Need This?

No. We're not claiming every factory upper shock mount will fail. This is preventative reinforcement for owners who want additional support around an area where failures have been documented.

What Actually Fails?

Documented failures have occurred around the center portion of the factory upper shock mount surrounding the shock-stem/bushing area. Damage in this area can allow the shock-stem assembly to move through the damaged mount.

Is This a Complete Replacement Top Hat?

No. That's the idea behind the TORQ solution. It reinforces the compatible factory upper mount rather than replacing the entire assembly.

Will This Repair a Top Hat That Has Already Failed?

No. A damaged factory suspension component should be properly repaired or replaced. The TORQ kit is intended as preventative reinforcement, not as a substitute for repairing an already failed mount.

Does It Lift My Tacoma?

No. This product is not designed to increase ride height.

Will It Change My Suspension Geometry?

The reinforcement itself is not intended to alter suspension geometry or alignment.

Does It Work With a TORQ Lift Kit?

Not with TORQ's current top-load front lift/leveling spacers. The two products occupy the same mounting area and are not intended to be stacked.

Does It Work With Aftermarket Coilovers?

Compatibility depends on the coilover and upper-mount design. Do not assume fitment with aftermarket suspension components.

Does It Fit TRD Pro or Trailhunter?

Compatibility has not yet been confirmed by TORQ. Do not order for TRD Pro or Trailhunter until fitment is listed.

Protect It Before You Need It

Nobody buys reinforcement hoping to find out whether they needed it.

That's the Point.

For Tacoma owners retaining the compatible factory front suspension, the TORQ Front Shock Mount Reinforcement Kit provides a simple additional layer of protection around an area where real-world failures have occurred.

Keep the Factory Mount.

Add the Reinforcement.

Keep Exploring.
