A SIMPLE SOLUTION TO FACTORY RAKE
More Stance. More Clearance. No Suspension Replacement.
Tacomas leave the factory with noticeable front-to-rear rake. The TORQ 2" Front Leveling Kit raises the front approximately 2", creating a more balanced stance while retaining the suspension components Toyota engineered for the truck.

WHEEL & TIRE FITMENT GUIDE
How Big of a Tire Can I Run?
A TORQ 2" front level gives your Tacoma the stance and clearance to run a larger tire without replacing the factory suspension.
For most owners, the decision comes down to this:
Choose your wheel size, pick how aggressive you want to go, and use the recommended tire size below.
17" WHEELS
| Tire Size | Approx. Diameter | Fitment | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 265/70R17 | 31.6" | 🟢 EASY FIT | Simple, conservative upgrade |
| 275/70R17 | 32.2" | 🟢 EASY FIT | Bigger stance with minimal fitment concerns |
| 285/70R17 | 32.7" | ⭐ SWEET SPOT | Our favorite 33" combination |
| 285/75R17 | 33.8" | 🟡 AGGRESSIVE | Maximum-size builds where wheel specs and clearance matter |
Our 17" Recommendation
285/70R17
If you want the classic leveled Tacoma look, this is the size we would start with.
You get:
-
Nearly 33" overall diameter
-
Noticeably fuller wheel wells
-
More sidewall for trail use
-
Aggressive stance without jumping straight into a heavily modified setup
18" WHEELS
| Tire Size | Approx. Diameter | Fitment | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| 265/65R18 | 31.6" | 🟢 EASY FIT | Factory-like ride and appearance |
| 275/65R18 | 32.1" | 🟢 EASY FIT | Larger tire without going too aggressive |
| 285/65R18 | 32.6" | ⭐ SWEET SPOT | Our favorite 18" combination |
| 285/70R18 | 33.7" | 🟡 AGGRESSIVE | Near-34" setup where clearance becomes more important |
Our 18" Recommendation
285/65R18
This is essentially the 18" equivalent of a 285/70R17.
It gives you:
-
Nearly 33" overall diameter
-
Wider, more planted stance
-
Clean OEM+ appearance
-
Plenty of tire without overwhelming the truck
NOT SURE WHICH TO CHOOSE?
Choose 17" Wheels If You Want:
More sidewall • More off-road capability • Classic Tacoma look
Our Pick:
285/70R17
Choose 18" Wheels If You Want:
More wheel • Slightly sportier appearance • OEM+ street/trail balance
Our Pick:
285/65R18
THE EASY ANSWER
If you want a larger tire without turning your Tacoma into a fitment project:
17" Wheel
Go with a 285/70R17
18" Wheel
Go with a 285/65R18
Both are approximately 33" tall and give a leveled Tacoma the fuller, more proportional stance most owners are looking for.
WHEEL OFFSET MATTERS
Tire size is only half of the equation.
Wheel width and offset determine where the tire sits inside the wheel opening and can dramatically affect rubbing and clearance.
For best results, avoid choosing an extremely low or negative offset simply to push the wheels farther outside the fenders.
A properly selected wheel keeps the tire positioned where the Tacoma has the most usable clearance.
General Wheel Guidance
2005–2023 Tacoma
17x8–8.5 or 18x8–8.5
Moderate positive to near-zero offset
2024+ Tacoma
17x8–8.5 or 18x8–8.5
Approximately +18mm to +25mm offset is a strong starting point.
WANT TO PUSH IT FURTHER?
Larger combinations such as:
285/75R17
or
285/70R18
can work on properly configured Tacomas, but we consider these aggressive fitments.
At this size, clearance becomes more dependent on:
-
Wheel offset
-
Wheel width
-
Tire manufacturer
-
Alignment and caster
-
Vehicle trim
-
Suspension travel
-
Inner liner and mud-flap clearance
If your goal is a straightforward installation with minimal fitment concerns, we recommend staying with the 285/70R17 or 285/65R18 sweet spot.
FITMENT NOTE
Actual tire dimensions vary between manufacturers and tire models. Two tires marked with the same size may have slightly different overall diameters and section widths.
Always verify clearance at full steering lock and throughout suspension travel after installing oversized wheels and tires.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does this change ride quality?
Because the TORQ 2" Leveling Kit retains your factory shocks and springs, it also retains the basic spring and damping characteristics of the factory suspension. You get the improved stance and added front height without replacing the suspension components that determine much of your Tacoma's factory ride quality.
Will I need an alignment after installation?
Yes. We recommend a professional alignment after installing the TORQ 2" Front Leveling Kit. Any time front ride height is changed, alignment should be checked and corrected to help maintain proper handling and tire wear.
Will this fit my Tacoma TRD Pro?
Yes. The TORQ 2" Front Leveling Kit is compatible with Tacoma TRD Pro models. Simply select the correct kit for your Tacoma generation when ordering.
If you're looking for a complete front-and-rear lift for your TRD Pro rather than a front-only level, TORQ also offers dedicated 2" TRD Pro Lift Kits for both Gen 3 and Gen 4 Tacomas.
What size tires can I run?
Tire fitment varies between Tacoma generations, as well as with wheel width, offset, alignment and the actual dimensions of the tire.
Gen 2 & 3 Tacoma (2005–2023)
275/70R17 is a great match for a 2" front level and offers a noticeable increase in tire size without pushing into more aggressive fitment requirements. A 285/70R17 (approximately 33") may also be possible, but additional clearance modifications can be required depending on your wheel and tire combination.
Gen 4 Tacoma (2024+)
33" tires are a strong match for a 2" front level. Select 34" combinations may also be possible with the right wheel width and offset, but more aggressive setups can require additional clearance modifications.
Always confirm your specific wheel-and-tire combination before purchasing. Actual tire dimensions vary between manufacturers.
Does installation require a spring compressor?
Yes. Installation requires removal and disassembly of the factory front strut assembly, so a spring compressor is required. If you're not experienced working with compressed coil springs, we recommend professional installation.
Is cutting or welding required?
No. The TORQ 2" Front Leveling Kit is a bolt-on installation and does not require cutting or welding. The factory front strut assemblies are removed and disassembled during installation, and a spring compressor is required.
Where is the TORQ 2" Leveling Kit made?
The TORQ 2" Front Leveling Kit is designed, machined and built in Utah, USA. Each spacer is CNC-machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum and black anodized for corrosion resistance and a clean, OEM+ appearance.
Manufacturing our components in the USA gives TORQ greater control over material, machining, fit and finished quality.
